The place to be for animal - maniacs

Just introducing myself to the group.

I am an exotic pet lover. A strong advocate for exotic pet ownership. I am also a dog and cat lover as well. I've grown up with exotic pets, and dogs and cats, and know entirely too much for someone my age (while other teenagers were going to concerts, I was at home reading books about dog breeds and Chinchillas, and exotic pet laws, haha).

At the moment, I just have one pet because of my housing situation. He is a jumbo fancy hooded rat just around a year-and-a-half old. His name is Ronin. He is extremely sweet. Never bitten a single person. He is, basically, my rock. I always dedicate myself to me animals, because they bring me so much happiness and I figure they deserve as much of me as I can give, since they are my whole responsibility.
Here are some pictures of my little guy.

My boyfriend has a few pets. I often end up taking care of them, as well.
This is Meika, a 1 year old Pomeranian that we rescued from an owner who could no longer care for her. She is unfortunately the product of backyard breeding, and is an incest puppy (brother to sister mating for a quick buck), but luckily she has shown no health problems because of this.

And this is Peanut. She is a mixed breed (I believe she is a Cattle Dog mix). She has very bad skin problems due to food allergies and a bad flea allergy. We are in the process of working on getting her a food she can eat that will help her coat come back in, but with no luck so far. She is a real sweetheart though. She is about 4 years old, a rescue from the local animal shelter.

And this is his cat, Mittens. She is a rescue from the local shelter as well. About 3 years old.

I look forward to getting to know everyone.

Hi and welcome to the group!

But (can´t stop myself, have to ask) why a single rat?

I'll remember to use a cut next time, definitely. Apologies to everyone. :P

We only have one rat because Ronin is very territorial. We have gone through the introduction process a couple of times with others, even a female, but he, for whatever reason, is very anti-social with other rats.
We were upset to find that out. We really had intentions of having more than one, but he will just not have it unfortunately.

Oh, one more thing: could you please use a cut if posting more than one picture?. It´s for the sake of owners of slower computers. So their friendspage won´t need a week to load up. Thanks!
